Josh Zimmers – Lead Advisor

Josh grew up in the Chicagoland area and we do not hold that against him. After graduating from Mundelein High School, Josh decided to become a Badger and attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned a B.A. in history. After Madison, Josh moved to Milwaukee to attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and every summer festival Brew City could muster.

Josh began his teaching career in Milwaukee Public Schools, where he taught social studies and coached football, golf and track. In 2006, he and a team of three other teachers founded Montessori High School, an IB World School. MHS was the first public school in the world to integrate Montessori and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. MHS is a teacher-led charter school that uses project-based and service learning. Josh spent the last year co-founding the Wisconsin Montessori Association, and helping educator and parent teams across Wisconsin to build innovative charter schools.

Josh is extremely excited to join the Kornerstone community of learners, and to have the opportunity to be a part of the creative student-centered school.
